Integrating the most advanced treatment technologies in the world, combined with our proprietary technologies, we address your most challenging compliance and treatment issues. We utilize advanced technologies (including advanced treatment, reclamation and recycling processes) and hands-on expertise to ensure efficient, safe and cost-effective quality operations.

Compliance evaluation for wastewater is responsible for receiving and logging bypass/overflow reports, administering the sewer ban program, and evaluating the compliance of wastewater treatment facilities with their NPDES permits, addressing instances of non-compliance, certification of wastewater facility operators and continuing education for operators.

The Operator Assistance Group within Wastewater Compliance provides operation and laboratory technical assistance to wastewater treatment plant operators and facilities. The objective of the 104-g-1 Technical Assistance Program is to assist small community wastewater treatment plants (less than 5.0 MGD) with NPDES compliance.

Our Technical staff provides on-site, hands-on assistance in the proper operation of wastewater plants. Also, the technical staff provides management assistance and promotes the involvement of community elected officials in the operation of wastewater treatment plants.

All industrial wastewater facilities must have an environmental compliance approval to:

• establish a new wastewater treatment facility
• use, operate, or change an existing facility

The environmental compliance approval normally imposes site-specific effluent limits and monitoring and reporting requirements for the operation of the facility.

The operator training and assistance program, located in the Hitech enviro, provides training and assistance to industries, businesses, schools and others to ensure wastewater treatment facilities are operated efficiently by competent personnel to achieve compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

The operator training and assistance program strives to achieve its mission by:

• Developing and conducting specialized training for treatment professionals.
• Partnering with educational institutions to provide low-cost training opportunities for operator licensure candidates.
• Preparing low-cost training/reference materials on wastewater treatment and associated topics.
• Conducting comprehensive treatment system performance evaluations to identify factors causing non-compliance.
• Providing short- and long-term assistance and on-site training to aid the treatment system in correcting identified problems.
• Assisting managers in identification of system vulnerabilities and development of emergency response plans to deal with natural and man-made disasters.

The course is aimed at laboratory technicians, council and private personnel involved in sampling, permitting, monitoring and compliance activities, water and wastewater operations, health protection officials and water transportation.
